Cinematographer
Paul is also working as a freelance assistant and photographer
producing content alongside his studies and hopes to become a cinematographer
in a large film production once a day.
First Steps
Being a professional camera assistant can be the hardest
job on the crew. It carries more responsibility than most people think and
even worse. While everyone else is on a tea break, the camera assistant
is usually working, loading magazines, filling out camera report sheets
or organizing the camera equipment for the next set-up.
Learning Skills
The role of Camera Trainee is the most junior role in the
Camera Department and provides the opportunity to learn the craft. This
apprenticeship role lasts a minimum of two years and includes television
drama, commercials and features to give as much experience as possible.
