The first half of the twentieth century was the era of mass media. Several
magazines such as ‘the National Geographic Magazine’ and ‘The Reader’s Digest’
started to reach millions of readers.
Carl Heinrich Meyer, son in law and CEO of the printing and publishing house Gebrüder Lüdeking in Hamburg was spending his lifetime at this location.
He was printing one of the first industrial coloured postcards of and for the European continent, photographed by his son and my grandfather Carl Hermann Meyer.
