CD-ROM Triptych about the Life and Teachings of Lord Buddha
WHAT DID THE BUDDHA TEACH ?

Produced by the Mae Fah Luang Foundation, set up to cultivate the spiritual legacy of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother,
late mother of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the project was conceived, written, and created by award winning multimedia director Titus Leber.

The production was executed by the team of the CD-ROM project of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation. The soundtrack was composed by award winning composer Robert Ponger and digital photography was carried out by internationally renowned museum photographer Ali Meyer.

The basis of the picture material are the frescoes in the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok. How does one set about digitising 1,700 m2 of walls depicting scenes from the Buddha’s life? Instead of film, a special high end Dicomed scanner was mounted on the large-format Sinar camera.

Tropical, humid heat, swarms of mosquitoes and heavy monsoon storms, coupled with power cuts made the 240 scans nothing if not adventurous. Then with great patience and using Dicomed Imaginator, Photoshop, Director, QTVR and Softimage, the 11 gigabytes were compiled.
